The hometown of baseball superstar Mike Trout, Millville offers many enjoyable recreational and sporting activities. It is the site of Union Lake, that offers an excellent place for sailing, boating and swimming. The Maurice River, part of the United States' Wild and Scenic River System, provides a scenic environmental habitat enjoyed by boaters and visitors to the area. Fresh water fishing opportunities abound, as does salt water fishing in the nearby Delaware Bay. The city has a variety of parks located along Union Lake, Maurice River, and in town, that offer a relaxing diversion from other recreational and business activities. The downtown area and two nearby malls provide shopping opportunities at both chain stores and local specialty businesses.


The city boasts numerous soccer, baseball and football fields. The Millville girls' Babe Ruth League earned world champion status in 1999, and hosted the 2000 World Series. The Millville School System maintains a comprehensive system of team sports throughout the seasons and provides a convenient web-based for students, parents and enthusiasts.


The Holly City Family Center - a family fitness and aquatic center - offers outstanding indoor facilities for swimming and exercise. The facility includes a state-of-the-art weight training center, and aerobics training classes for men and women of all ages.
